Encouraging and supporting young people to reach their potential and develop a healthy and balanced self-esteem is an admirable and significant quest. The “Gold Medal for Life” curriculum successfully initiates this quest by creating a fun-filled, yet thought-provoking learning opportunity for every student. The success of this curriculum is twofold. First, it supports the individual development of students to become aware of their own talents, skills, and areas for improvement. Secondly, it teaches students to live a life of peaceful conflict resolution and service to others. A global culture of peace and service will profoundly change our world.

Working in the counseling field in both a school and community setting for the past twenty years has taught me the importance of helping young people make positive healthy decisions. Youth who have the skill and understanding of their emotions and behavior become more actualized and conscious people. The work of a counselor is focused very much on self-esteem, communication, navigating one’s emotions, and processing past hurts so they become a means of growth and development, not destruction or despair. “Gold Medal for Life” is a teaching tool that can aid a young person to realize their potential and to become a positive thoughtful citizen in our world community.

I have known H. Veronika Gaia for the past thirty-five years, ever since I was a student in her classroom. I have witnessed firsthand her great drive to help the young people of the world tap into their gifts and talents. Her experience teaching, literally thousands of students over the years, has given her the insight to create this valuable curriculum. Although this program could be used for group counseling awareness, the primary objective is for teacher use in the everyday classroom. Setting time aside weekly to process and move through the curriculum will support the teacher in creating a safe, challenging, and supportive academic environment while assisting students to tap into their true potential.

“The Gold Medal for Life” is a gift to the youth and to the teachers and counselors supporting the holistic development of every child.

Holly Regan ~ Coordinator and Consultant

Holly has taught in most education systems for 25+ years from kindergarten to Grade/Year 12 supporting students’ academic, emotional, physical, and mental well-being.  She has taught in Scotland and, now, Australia. She has also been apart of the Canadian education and camp systems.

Her background in Learning and Support/ Wellbeing and her beliefs in a new framework for education moving forward dovetails perfectly with the Gold Metal for Life philosophy.

“The program supports a teenager’s developmental journey and assists him/her to transition from looking at the outer world for recognition of their magnificence (extrinsic) to going within themselves to access their own internal state of peace, joy and self acceptance.

This program can change the world we live in.  A world where teenagers are guided to experience a state of success within themselves.  Where teenagers have the sturdy platform and foundation to become adults who have a true understanding on how to be their best version with the skills, strategies and tools to ensure this unfoldment happens with ease and grace.”
